As rain was forecast this year, everyone was fully prepared and divided into groups at each location to begin work.
At Odaka Waterfront Park, the Japanese boat was loaded onto a truck using
a crane
and then transported overland to Toyokibashi Bridge, where it was unloaded.
Looking out over the rows of Kawazu cherry trees in full bloom along the canal, t
he boat was rowed to the Kurofunebashi boat dock (Monzen-Nakacho), the
Sakura Festival venue.
At Kurofunebashi boat dock, preparations were completed, including setting
up a temporary mooring area and inspecting
and storing the necessary equipment.
This year, the ends of the pipes used to make the temporary mooring areas were given sharp tips like the tips of pencils.
